Overview
The CAPITA Black Snowboard of Death (BSOD) has built up an almost mythical reputation as a powerful freeride deck. That unlocks a new world of riding that only the worthy few may experience. And if the unworthy try to ride it, the board will live up to its namesake and deal out death to the undeserving.
But enough with the myths, at its core, the BSOD is a stiff, directional, camber-dominant snowboard that can ride the gnarliest terrain with no speed limit. This board comes with a slight taper, minor setback, and extra rocker in the nose. Enabling the BSOD to smash powder while remaining capable of riding and landing switch when the occasion calls for it.
And for when life on earth gets boring, the BSOD’s stiff flex and camber dominant profile are at the ready to send you airborne from peak to peak. With all these features combined, the BSOD is also known for its stable and laid over carving prowess. A plank that you can drag ass and arm pit with.
This board was built for aggressive, advanced riders and up who will never get enough speed, air-time, or white powder. If that sounds like you, then become a revenant and get on a Black Snowboard of Death.

THERMOPOLYMER HOVER CORE - Enhanced with bonded post-consumer recycled Thermopolymer channels into ultra-lightweight select grain wood core strips, the THERMOPOLYMER HOVER Core is extremely light & strong with excellent dampening properties.
CARBON FLEECE POWER SHIELD - With two Carbon Fleece power pads underfoot, maximum thrusting power is achieved for ollies & stability under varied-terrain while torsional forgiveness allows for ease of command while in battle.
-
AMPLITEX V-TECH AMPLIFIER - Amplitex is a next-generation natural flax fiber woven with carbon strands that is featured in Capita’s high-end snowboard constructions. This fusion tape brings the best of two worlds; the reactive energy of carbon & the lightweight, dampening aspects of flax.
Hybrid Holysheet Tri/Tri Fiberglass – The HOLYSHEET fiberglass configuration features fiber weaves with a high tensile strength & low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger & more responsive ride without extra weight. At the highest level, Triaxial fiberglass is placed on both the top & bottom of the core providing maximum strength, durability & performance, while many of the most sought after models feature Triaxial fiberglass on top of the core & Biaxial fiberglass beneath, creating a perfectly blended ride while increasing strength & durability.
Magic Bean Resin – This advanced resin system has a bio-content of 60% renewable, agricultural raw material and is produced with no waste or greenhouse emissions. In production, it has a low-temperature requirement with a high yield output. Poppy, powerful, and extremely durable, MAGIC BEAN resin yields much stronger and more rigid qualities allowing a decrease in the wood core thickness. This means you get a lighter board while achieving higher energy return.

Rider review
I had a sick time testing out the 2024/2025 CAPITA Black Snowboard of Death (BSOD), it is one of the stiffest, dampest, and most stable boards I have ever been on. I could lay into a carve at high speed and literally just sit on the heel edge and let the board do the rest. The camber profile would lock into the snow and not let go, while the rigid flex and directional “camrock” profile would plow through all of the imperfections & bumps in the snow. Allowing me to, oddly enough, just chill out and let the board do the work railing turns. Then when that turn apex hits, you can shift your weight and roll over to toe edge and enjoy another smooth, stable carve on toe-side while trimming your armpit hairs on the ice. And the lower you get, the faster you shred.
With that said, this board had a minimal amount of torsional flex. It was like riding a precision blade, edge to edge. For ollies, I definitely had to time the load-up and put more muscle into it. When I loaded and timed it right, I got a solid rebound that gave back more than I put in, but when I mis-timed the ollie, or “half-assed” the load up, the pop would feel lacking. Which is not the board’s fault, but rather just confirmation that snapping off the tail on this board requires more effort and precision. This became easier to execute the more I got used to the board.
I unfortunately did not get to ride this board in powder, but with the rockered nose, slight setback, and minor taper, I think it would do a decent job of staying afloat in deep snow. Although it’ll likely do best in powder with speed and won’t be as floaty in low-angle pow or trees. To that point, at slower speeds, it can feel sluggish to move and not the most nimble. But with speed, the BSOD “comes to life” and lets you carve, spray, and jump freely, while still favoring longer more drawn-out turns. Even riding switch felt better and more natural with speed.
Definitely a board that requires you to be on your A-game to fully enjoy, but still a blast and a unique ride. I’d recommend this board to advanced and expert riders who love speed, response, and charging on and off the groomed runs. Riders who like to hit big jumps and boost side hits without having to worry about what (or who) is in the landing. If you’re not sure if this board is right for you, then it probably isn’t. Its stiff flex and sharp edges will bite back hard if you don’t ride with confidence and authority. Overall, the BSOD is a powerful, freeride, undead beast just waiting to be unleashed.
