Overview
The CAPITA Mercury is one of the quintessential all-mountain freestyle snowboards. A camrock directional twin with a slightly stiffer flex, making it one of the most versatile boards on the market.
Plenty of snap for ollies and side hits. A switch-friendly shape for park laps and freestyle. Early rise in the nose and tail for float and play. Camber between the feet for power, stability, and edge hold. Plus CAPITA’s Death Grip on the side cut for increased hold in ice.
No matter the conditions, the Mercury has your back.

3 x 25 mm Carbonflax Amplifier – CARBONFLAX is a next-generation natural flax fiber woven with carbon strands that is featured in our high-end snowboard constructions. This fusion tape brings: the reactive energy of carbon & the lightweight and dampening aspects of flax. The two fibers are highly compatible since they have similar properties regarding thermal expansion & failure strain, creating a uniformly flexing reinforcement that's light, snappy & durable all in one.
Hybrid Holysheet Tri/Tri Fiberglass – The HOLYSHEET fiberglass configuration features fiber weaves with a high tensile strength & low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger & more responsive ride without extra weight. At the highest level, Triaxial fiberglass is placed on both the top & bottom of the core providing maximum strength, durability & performance, while many of the most sought after models feature Triaxial fiberglass on top of the core & Biaxial fiberglass beneath, creating a perfectly blended ride while increasing strength & durability.
Magic Bean Resin – This advanced resin system has a bio-content of 60% renewable, agricultural raw material and is produced with no waste or greenhouse emissions. In production, it has a low-temperature requirement with a high yield output. Poppy, powerful, and extremely durable, MAGIC BEAN resin yields much stronger and more rigid qualities allowing a decrease in the wood core thickness. This means you get a lighter board while achieving higher energy return.

Rider review
I’ve been riding the 2023/2024 CAPITA Mercury for the past two seasons, and I have not been disappointed. I originally intended it to be my “powder freestyle” deck only, but I ended up choosing it over my other boards way more than I anticipated. The biggest reason for this was versatility. On days when I was unsure of the weather, I reached for the Mercury. When I was meeting up with friends and didn’t know if we’d be hitting the park or hiking out the gates, I’d grab the Mercury. On days when I wasn’t sure what I wanted to ride, I’d grab the Mercury. And it never let me down, whether it was impromptu charging, hot park laps, or playful groomer laps.
But let’s get into the specifics. This board has solid snap for side hits, rollers, and park laps. The camber profile, stiffer flex, and Death Grip keep you locked in on carves and are stable enough at high speeds to not feel the need to hold back. The rocker in the nose and tail makes the board a bit more playful for presses and spins while also making powder days a blast. I set the bindings back a bit on deeper days, but that’s a pretty minor tweak and easier than bringing two boards for one day of riding. And I honestly never had any tomahawking or back leg burnout issues. It really surprised me with its powder prowess for being a directional twin.
Because this board is not overly stiff, it has a good amount of torsional flex, which allows you to ankle steer and manipulate the board a bit easier than other freeride options. This contributes to its freestyle spirit. Yet, it is stiff enough to give you confidence when charging harder. It’s not my favorite board for jibbing due to its stiffer than middle-of-the-road flex, but it gets the job done, especially if you come into the feature with speed. For more dedicated park riding, you can detune the edges, and this helps make it feel a bit more forgiving as well (don’t want that Death Grip grabbing too soon).
I’d recommend this board to confident intermediate riders and up. I think a beginner or casual rider might find it a bit too aggressive. But for riders who like to be playful but still get sendy and go fast, it’ll be perfect. It is also a great option for the rider who wants one board to do it all. Smash powder, boost jumps, and lay trenches on groomers, the Mercury has you covered.
